Engineers and technicians with MI-SWACO (names withheld by request) make final preparations to a one-of-a-kind sand washing system on the beach in Grand Isle, Louisiana on Friday July 16, 2010. The system sifts contaminated sand, treats it with hot water and sends the sand through two auger-equipped tanks to clean it thoroughly before it completes the process and is spread back out upon the beach
