Sandwashing Operations

When sand with traces of oil is collected, it is thoroughly washed during a hot water process before being returned to the beach. During cleanup efforts, large sandwashing machines clean about 50 tons of sand per hour and are deployed near beach operations that separates clean sand and washing the remaining oily portion. The oil is removed and disposed of with the rest of the oily debris, making the sand much clear than the native sand.
